Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE)
Candidates who have completed four years of secondary school are eligible to take this achievement test.

Every year, CSEE is administered in the first week of December.
The goals of CSEE
This examination is designed to evaluate students’ knowledge and skills in secondary school subjects. It also aims to assess the ability of the student to use the skills acquired to meet the socio, political, economic, and technological challenges that face the individual and the nation.
The CSEE qualification holder is expected to have the ability to use skills in knowledge, comprehension and application as well as analysis, synthesis, evaluation, and synthesis in a wide range of activities.
Candidates who are eligible to sit for the Examination
Students who have completed four years’ secondary education in both government-registered schools, and passed the Qualifying Test or two secondary education exams.
Retaker candidates who have taken the same examination but registered as private candidates.
The compulsory core subjects for CSEE registration are Civics, History and Geography. The candidate may choose to sit for two additional subjects from the natural science subjects of Physics and Chemistry, or Business subjects such as Commerce and Book Keeping, Food and Nutrition, Textile and Dress Making, and Plumbing. Candidates for the CSEE may not register for more than ten subjects in one sitting.

Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE)
Candidates who have completed at least two years of secondary education (advanced) and have earned three credits at CSEE Level are eligible for this award.
The Examination Calendar
Every year, the ACSEE is administered in May’s first week.
This examination aims to evaluate the learner’s ability to continue education, such as diploma or degree courses, and to determine if the learner can apply the skills to meet the technological, social, and political challenges facing the nation. Candidates at this level should have the following skills: comprehension, analysis, synthesis, and application.
Eligibility for Candidates Who Are Interested in the Examination
Candidates who have passed the advanced level of secondary education and have three credits at CSEE are eligible to take this examination.
The subjects that were examined for ACSEE include: General Studies, which is a compulsory subject. Other subjects are grouped together, i.e., Natural Science, which includes Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM), Physics Chemistry and Biology and Physics (PCB), Physics Geography and Mathematics and Economics (EGM), Chemistry Biology and Geography and Chemistry and Biology and Food and Human Nutrition and Chemistry (CBN). Arts Combinations is another category. It includes History, Geography and English Language, History, Geography and Kiswahili(HGK), History and Kiswahili and English Languages (HKL), History and Kiswahili and English Languages (HKL), History and Kiswahili and English Languages (KLF), Economics and Commerce and Accountancy, and History, Geography and Economics [HGE].
