NEW VACANCIES | POSITIONS AVAILABLE AT THE USHETU DISTRICT COUNCIL (5 POSTS)

The Ushetu District Council was established in a government notice GN286 dated 31/8/2012. The original District Council was located in Kahama district which was then divided into 3 Councils of Kahama Town Council.

Following the decision by the government to make services more accessible to the community, Msalala DC was created and Ushetu DC was established.

The District Council is located in the Northwest of Tanzania (Southern of Lake Victoria), approximately between latitudes 3015 and 4030′ South of Equator, and longitudes 331030 and 33000′ East of Greenwich.

The 4,326.7 square kilometers (432,670.4 ha) District council covers has 19 wards, and 105 villages.

It also includes 500 sub-district villages. According to the 2012 National Census, the Council has 273,075 inhabitants (134,229 men and 138,846 women).

The District Council’s Vision is to create a society that is free from poverty, illiteracy and diseases, and which lives in peace and tranquility.

The District Council’s Mission is to improve the quality of life by providing equitable, social and economic services. Good governance is key.

The Council is home to 15 government secondary schools, 99 government primary schools, 3 health centres, 22 dispensaries, and 21 govt. owned by the Council and 1FBO, and is without a District hospital.

There is also a water piped scheme in the council, with 445 shallow-wells, 23 deeper-wells, and an overall roadnetwork of 885km (221 km gravelly and 664 km).
